Chiefs building WR Kadarius Toney back up after Week 14

Things didn’t go the way that the Kansas City Chiefs wanted in Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills.
Instead of devolving to finger-pointing and giving way to frustrations that were apparent postgame, the Chiefs are sticking together. It all starts with building WR Kadarius Toney back up after his mental mistake cost Kansas City a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
As far as the coaching point, Chiefs HC Andy Reid isn’t holding anything back, but he’s also encouraging Toney to push forward.
“We just talk about it,” Reid said. “He’s (Kadarius Toney) in a good place, things happen, so you learn from it and you move on and that’s where we’re at.”
Toney’s teammates have also sent positive messages. Chiefs TE Travis Kelce gave a strong message of support on his New Heights Show podcast. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who was among the most frustrated individuals after the game, also has shown support and encouragement for Toney.
“Just be you,” Mahomes said. “That’s all you can do in life or in this league. You’re going to make mistakes; stuff is going to happen in your life. How do you accept that adversity and get past it and do it the right way? (Head) Coach (Andy) Reid preaches that and that’s how I roll. If you make one mistake, that’s not going to define you, it’s going to be how you respond to the mistake.”
Ultimately, if they’re going to turn things around, they’re going to need players like Toney to be at their best. Hopefully, the encouragement from his coaches and teammates will inspire closer attention to details moving forward.

What makes the Patriots dangerous?
Their 3-10 record might not make them seem like it, but the Chiefs believe that the Patriots are a dangerous team. Not only do they have a future Hall of Fame head coach, but “The Patriot Way” leads to some physical and tough play, per Chiefs DT Chris Jones.
“It’s a well-coached team, and they are defensively built,” Jones said. “And you look at the base of that team, they are built to run the ball. Hardcore, physical team, old school type of team – you don’t have that type of teams these days because most of the league is about passing yards these days. That’s a physical team built off of their defense and running the ball. That speaks for itself what kind of coach (Patriots Head) Coach (Bill) Belichick is hardcore, physical, hard nose coach. (He’s) been in this league awhile. (I’ve) got much respect for him and the way he’s prevailed as a coach, and how he’s been such a generational coach in this league for a decade, or even longer. Coach Belichick has been successful in this league.”
Belichick’s offense caught steam last week against the Steelers, and if the Chiefs’ defense isn’t prepared for a dog fight, they could be caught off guard, too.
