The 23-year-old is starting to find his footing with the Kansas City Chiefs in his second season in the NFL.
One of the most talked about topics going into the 2023 season for the Chiefs is the wide receiver group that has some new names that include rookie Rashee Rice, Richie James, and Ihmir Smith-Marsette.
One of those new wide receivers is Justyn Ross who is going into his second season with the Chiefs.
The 2023 season will be the first for Ross in a Chiefs uniform after going through the 2022 season with a foot injury he suffered during his final year at Clemson and watching the Chiefs win Super Bowl 57 from the sidelines.
“It was great to see everything last season but it was a pain for me because I wanted to be out there playing,” Ross said.
In three seasons at Clemson, Ross had 2,379 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns and won the national championship in 2018 with Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Now he will be catching passes from the reigning NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP, quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes has found Ross on a number of deep passes during the 2023 training camp like the one-handed catch during the fourth day of practice that turned some heads and started talk on social media about the duo.

“I deleted my twitter,” Ross said. “I try to block out all that stuff and just keep going day-by-day.”
Ross has also been learning from wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling who is going into his sixth season in the NFL and his second season with the Chiefs.
“He has been a great impact,” Ross said. “I look at MVS as a big brother. He’s always that guy that wants you to finish that rep or catch.”
Ross and the rest of the Chiefs will be in action Aug. 13 as they travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints in their first preseason game of 2023.
